On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, OKUP’s Climate Advocate youth team in Shyamnagar, Satkhira, organized a full-day programme to inspire community action for a cleaner, greener future.

The day’s activities included an awareness rally, tree plantation drive, and community clean-up campaign—all aimed at promoting the global theme for this year: “No to Plastic Pollution – Time to Act is Now!”

With courage, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility, OKUP’s Climate Advocates took to the streets, engaging local residents and spreading messages on the urgent need to reduce plastic waste, protect natural resources, and build resilience against climate change.

The tree plantation programme symbolized a commitment to restoring ecosystems and increasing green coverage in a region highly vulnerable to climate-induced disasters. Meanwhile, the clean-up activity highlighted the importance of maintaining a plastic-free environment for both human health and biodiversity.

OKUP extends its gratitude to the young Climate Advocates for their leadership and dedication to environmental protection. Together, we can work towards a plastic-free, sustainable Bangladesh where people and nature thrive in harmony. 🌱
